Abounding Grace
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.
2Cor. 9:8
The topic of grace has been revolutionizing my life over the last few months. I have begun to understand and appreciate this all-encompassing topic like never before. The gospel of grace is the center of Jesus’ message. Grace is what makes the gospel “good news”. Grace separates Christianity from all other religions, putting the power in what God has done for us not what we can do for Him. Grace helps us see God for who He truly is. Grace changes our perspective on God, others, and ourselves. Grace changes everything!
Grace refers to the unmerited and undeserved favor of God towards each of us. His favor towards us! Wow, just think about that… the Source of everything loves us! The Maker of heaven and earth is for us! We love Him BECAUSE He first loved us! Amazing is His grace!
God’s grace means:
• God is the supplier, we are the applier
• What God works into us, we work out of us
• He is the initiator, we are the responders
Here in 2 Corinthians 9:8 the Bible says that God’s grace has abounded toward us. And God’s grace is sufficient for us. In other words, God gives us what we need when we need it. We will never be lacking God’s supply. If fact it will abound toward us! With God’s grace then we are equipped “for every good work”.
