ITS NOT WHAT YOU HAVE BUT WHO YOU HAVE

The LORD was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. Genesis 39:2

Even though at this time in Joseph’s life he was a slave in a foreign land, the Bible still calls him “successful”. By all human accounts, Joseph was not a success. He had no rights, no bank account, no possessions, nothing. But what he did have was the Lord. “The Lord was with Joseph”. His success was not because of what he had but who he had. He had God. God was on his side. And if God is for us, who can be against us (Romans 8:31)?

His master the Egyptian on the other hand, had many of the things that people would consider necessary for success, but he didn’t have God. This describes may people today. They may be rich in goods but they are poor in God.

Later Joseph became successful both in his relationship with God and his position on earth. He was later promoted to second in command of all the Egyptian empire. All this was due to who he had.

Let your identity in Christ and your positions in him give you the confidence to face your trials and overcome them. Knowing that God was with Joseph took him from the prison to the palace. May you always know in your heart of hearts that God is with you! He is your Immanuel (God with us).

In fact, repeat this statement to yourself over and over:
“THE LORD IS WITH ME AND I AM A SUCCCESFUL PERSON”

Say it until you feel it, believe it, and reflect it…and then keep saying it everyday. There will never be a time it isn’t true. If God is with you, you are already a success!

Today’s prayer:
“Lord thank you for always being with me. Help me to sense Your presence and believe that I am a success because of You.”

Keep looking up,
Pastor Gary
