A Special Treasure

Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. Exodus 19:5

Moses was leading the nation of Israel through the wilderness and toward the Promised Land. God’s desire was that Israel would be His example of blessing and love to the world. That through them, all the nations of the earth would be blessed. God chose them to be a special treasure that would showcase His goodness to all mankind. All that Israel needed to do was go along with the plan. They just needed to trust and obey and they would be exalted above all the people of the earth.

In this passage we hear the heart of God for Israel and for us. His desire is that we would be His special treasure. The word “special” speaks of uniqueness and “treasure” speaks of value. God’s will is that we would become trophies of His grace. Walking billboards of His goodness. That people could see the blessing of God upon our lives and be drawn to follow God as well.

Be reminded today that you are a special treasure to the Lord. Allow God to do what He wants in your life for His glory. Become what God sees you to be by obeying His voice and keeping His Word.

Today’s prayer: “Lord thank you for choosing me and valuing me. Help me become all that you want me to be so that others are drawn to You.”
